Welcome to Maggie Aderin-Pocock Class - Year 5

Aderin-Pocock Class is taught by Mrs G Karakurt and is supported by Mrs Harrison. 

Our class explorer is Maggie Aderin-Pocock who is a British space scientist, author, and television presenter . She inspires people to learn about space and science. She is best known for presenting the TV show The Sky at Night and for encouraging children, especially girls, to follow careers in STEM subjects. Maggie was chosen as our class explorer because she explores the universe through science and technology, showing curiosity, determination, and creativity which are values we want our children to have. She is inspirational because she worked hard to overcome challenges such as dyslexia and became a successful scientist who helps others believe they can achieve their dreams too.
